Privy and Ripple Bring Embedded Wallets to XRP Ledger

Embedded wallets let applications offer onchain accounts within their own interfaces; Privy says it is partnering with Ripple to bring its programmable wallet infrastructure to the XRP Ledger (XRPL). The integration will let developers create and manage XRPL wallets and sign transactions involving XRP, RLUSD and other digital assets.

That gives apps a way to build payment and agentic commerce features on XRPL without developing wallet infrastructure from scratch.

In its announcement, Privy said developers will be able to create wallets programmatically, sign XRPL transactions and support x402 payments. Privy also said users will be able to export private keys and seed phrases, allowing them to take their wallets to another service.

What will developers be able to build with the integration?

Privy says the wallets can support XRP, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin and other assets on XRPL. Its announcement describes server-side wallets that let software agents hold and transact with funds, including through x402 payments, which the company positions for agentic commerce.

According to The Block’s report, embedded wallets operate inside an app, so users do not have to connect a separate crypto wallet. The report said Privy’s infrastructure will handle wallet creation, management and transaction signing, while users retain the option to export their keys and seed phrases.

What is available now, and what is planned?

Privy’s announcement describes the XRPL wallet capabilities developers will be able to use, but does not give a launch date. The company said it plans to deepen the integration over time with policy controls and gas sponsorship. It said those additions are intended to give developers more control over wallet transactions; it did not specify when they would arrive.

RippleX senior vice president Markus Infanger said in Privy’s announcement that the partnership is intended to help fintechs and developers build payment and stablecoin products on XRPL. Privy co-founder and CEO Henri Stern said the wallets are aimed at use cases ranging from global payments to agentic commerce.

What scale does Privy cite for the XRP Ledger?

Privy said XRPL has operated for more than 14 years, grown to more than 8 million funded accounts and moved $1 trillion in value. Those figures are the company’s description of the network’s history and scale. The announcement did not disclose financial terms for the partnership or name an initial application using the integration.
